Looking for a decent Bible slideshow program? I hope you believe this is the one for your church, especially for those with VGA projection systems and members with weak vision. Or if you are visually impaired, these may fit your home needs.

Cost

These are presented as "donation-ware" (freeware). However, the author though would really, really like know his work is deeply appreciated. An actual Bible as PowerPoint runs quite high, so is a tenth so much? For his name/address, email him here via e-mail client or

boreinotwilight@yahoo.com

via webmail, with the subject line

Need Name/Address for Bible slideshow donation.

Mention "Christian Assembly of Hobart" at the top, and they will receive half.
If desired, use his name with "c/o church's address". Money order strongly preferred.

Issues

Bibles are presented via XML data islands which Internet Explorer handles, but not other browsers like Mozilla's Firefox (without IE Tab) or Apple's Safari (Mac OS/PC). As much as the Slideshow's author feels for the other browsers, they do not handle XML data islands.

Using Mozilla Firefox with IE Tab, the "index.htm" page will open with some chapter lists open (1st, 2nd, 3rd <bookname>). Right-click on the open page, select "View Page in IE Tab", and the page will render correctly. New pages opened from here should use the IE rendering engine (Trident). To invoke the AccessKey shortcuts, use Shift + Alt + <assigned letter>.

Bibles are presented as-is. If an error is found, please contact the author.

Whereas the theme of the slideshow can be changed (fonts, font sizes, font color, background color and even image!), the layout cannot be redone without doing it for all 1,189 chapters!

If you don't like the "KJV-Revealed" style, use the standard style. If you're still not happy with the KJV-standard Bible slideshow, discontinue and use a printed Bible.

These slides do not animate, auto-forward, or incorporate new slides (at least not misformed ones). For such features, use Microsoft PowerPoint or Corel's Presentations from scratch.

If you wish to use a full-size graphic image for the background, remember the gray slide navigation bar is part of the HTML page.

Because of varying verse length, please run through a presentation to make sure verses do not exceed the screen size. In STYLE.CSS,

     H1 & P tags: {... font-size: 280%; ...} at 1024x 768,
     H1 & P tags: {... font-size: 320%; ...} at 1280x1024.

The slideshow author has added a screen-hopping feature which should work for dual-monitor or paired monitor/projector. It only works properly in Internet Explorer—Firefox with IETab may not support this feature ideally. The BRAND.JS file needs to have changed the threshhold variable to the proper width of the primary screen (Windows taskbar), and the second screen be towards the "right" of the primary monitor, virtually speaking. (If it is on the left, the screen-hopping feature may not work properly.) It is invoked by Alt+H (Hop screens), or clicking the "Welcome..." messsage.
